The head of the fire is now on ou kaapse weg.
Please refrain from sight seeing as visibility is very bad currently on ou kaapse weg.

🔥 Kalk Bay Fire Update – WED 17 JAN 2024 – 14:40

SANParks, Table Mountain National Park, has mobilized around 70 firefighters from NCC Wildfires, Volunteer Wildfire Services, and Working on Fire. Additionally, three helicopters and a spotter plane have been deployed to address a fire above Boyes Drive in Kalk Bay.

The fire is intensifying due to strong wind conditions.

An urgent request is issued for hikers in the central section of Table Mountain National Park to descend from the mountains as a safety measure.
