Must See October Events Around The Valley (Editors Choice)

October has arrived and we have been spoilt for entertainment around the valley. To help narrow down the decision making I have put together a list of my favorite events I think you should be supporting.

This list is not sponsored in any way but it does incorporate my personal preference. I selected who I think are the best up and coming entertainers and establishments that do there best to support the local industry.

Whisky Tango at Bushpub Restaurant (2 October)

Whisky Tango is an extremely talented duo consisting of my brother Kurt Tiltman and his long haired friend Werner Olivier. They play a wide range of genres and even throw in some originals from time to time. There events always draw a crowed and are often accompanied by fellow artists from the valley. The new owners of the Bushpub are doing an excellent job of revitalizing the pub and are always kind and appreciative of the support that they get.

Tim Parr Band at Camel Rock (9 October)

Seasoned musician Tim Parr will be performing at Camel Rock this October. Tim has been touring the valley playing songs from his new EP – THE REVOLUTION TOUR. Tim Parr got his first claim to fame in 1976 with his Joburg-based cult band Baxtop.

Andre Tiltman(Editor) at Monkey Valley (10 October)

Yes, Of course I picked myself. Come join me at Monkey Valley for some fun in the sun. I grew up in the Fish Hoek valley around the 90s and play all the classics from my era. I feature songs from local South African artists like Hog Hoggidy Hog, Fokofpolisiekar and The Narrow. The venue has the most amazing views and is the perfect spot for Sundowners.

Band Of Hats at Sandi’s Bistro (15 October)

This energetic duo will be sure to turn heads at Sandi’s Bistro. Paul Q know for his highly entertaining performances will be joining his brother for a fun filled night to remember. Owner Sandi keeps her ear to the ground and does her best to support local artists from the valley. The venue has a chilled, laid back atmosphere and Sandi always makes you feel welcome.

Schalk Bezuidenhout at Cafe Roux (19 & 20 October)

Local Comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout will leave you “feeling good, feeling positive” at Cafe Roux this October. Schalk has been helping us maintain our sanity over the lockdown period with his humorous posts on Instagram. Cafe Roux does there best to bring headlining artists from around South Africa so that the valley is never short of entertainment
