More on the artists:
John Ellis:
John Ellis is a singer-songwriter from Durban, South Africa. John led his band Tree63 to international acclaim as the band’s singer, guitar player and award-winning songwriter. As a solo artist, he has been nominated for a SAMA award and has released five solo albums.
Jono Tait:
Jono Tait, a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, perhaps best known for running one of Cape Town’s leading music venues, The Alma Café.
A strong guitarist, singer and lyricist, his songs draw on a life lived in and out of love, lived under a cloud of long term bi-polar depression and struggles with and victory over substance abuse.
Having studied classical and jazz music and choral singing throughout school, Jono picked up guitar at the age of 14 and set about becoming the musician he is today. His abilities as a composer and performer have seem him excel in numerous projects across the dynamic and varied SA music scene including Hatchetman, We Kill Cowboys, For Folks Sake, Falling Mirror, Old Town and Christine Weir and the Flying Kilts.
