Robin Auld @ Legends @ Fish Hoek Cricket Club

June 29 @ 6:00 pm 6:30 pm CAT

Music concert with Robin Auld and Rayelle Goodman

Slide guitar, harmonica, African blues guitar stylings and soul vocals all feature in the fresh sound of Robin Auld! Familiar to South Africans from his hits All of WomanBaby You’ve Been Good To MePerfect Day and many others, Robin Auld’s music has evolved from the pop-rock sound of his early hits into a contemporary mix of roots and blues. His latest album. “The Everlovin’ Wind” has had a great reception, with both singles “Underground” and “Country Mile” making the Mix FM top ten.

Born in Lusaka, Zambia to Scots parents, Robin’s childhood was spent alternating between Southern Africa and Scotland; a journey reflected in the African and Celtic influences in his music. He learned to play the guitar by listening to Hendrix, Ry Cooder and Neil Young, also absorbing influences from the various guitarists of Southern Africa.

Based in Cape Town, he has performed and recorded in New York, London, Glasgow and Nashville, performing at festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Tartan Hearts, Gold Coast Ocean Fest, and Womad.

Joining him on violin, is the incredible performer Rayelle Goodman. One of South Africa’s most accomplished violin players, she is that rare musician who is at ease playing classical music with an orchestra, but also a virtuoso player who can improvise at the drop of a hat. She has a long career playing with orchestras nationally as well as many of South Africa’s top singer/songwriters, and brings a Celtic/Folk energy to the songs in an evening of entertainment guaranteed to uplift!
