Disable Desktop Visual Effects

This will boost performance by freeing up the graphics processor. Disabling animations will also make your computer feel faster by skipping transitions.

Steps

  1. Click Start 🪟
  2. Open Settings
  3. Click System
  4. Scroll Down to About
  5. Click Advanced Settings
  6. A Window Will Pop up
  7. Go to Advanced
  8. Under Performance Click Settings

Disable Animations

  • Animate controls and elements inside windows
  • Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing
  • Animations in taskbar

Disable Fade Effects

  • Fade or slide menus into view
  • Fade or slide ToolTips into view
  • Fade out menu items after clicking
  • Slide open combo boxes

Apply
