If you want to change your password to prevent someone from getting onto your network, this can be done on the router.

Router IP

In order to login to the router you need to know what the routers IP address is. This can be found on the back of the router or looking up your default gateway.

  1. Click start
  2. Type CMD
  3. Open Command Prompt
  4. type ipconfig

The computer will display your network info.

The numbers should be something like: 192.168.1.1

Login to Router

Open a browser window and put in the default gateway you got from running ipconfig.

This should bring up a login page.

The default loging details are normally

Login: admin

Pass: admin

Change settings

The WiFi password can be changed under network settings. It should normally display the SSID (WiFi name) followed by the protocol (WPA2PSK) and Channel
